Jan T. Hendryx, DO, is Professor of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practice, Course Director of Osteopathic Principles and Practice, and Director of Integrated Medicine at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is author of the recently released book, Healer's Touch: A Physician's Journey into the Medical, Miracle, and Mystical Aspects of Healing.
Dr. Hendryx received his Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center/Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) in Ft. Worth. He completed his internship at Phoenix General Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona, and residency in family practice at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. He is a Fellow and graduate of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture (AAMA) training program through the UCLA School of Medicine, and currently serves on the Acupuncture Certification Board for physicians. He is also a member of the
American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) and American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Dr. Hendryx is board-certified in family practice, osteopathic manipulative medicine, medical acupuncture, and holistic medicine and has lectured widely on these topics to physicians and the general public. In addition to teaching, he conducts an office-based practice specializing in the non-drug treatment of pain and other health problems through the use of osteopathic manipulative medicine, acupuncture, and other holistic modalities. Dr. Hendryx believes in the original holistic principles of osteopathic medicine as they were formulated over 100 years ago and uses these principles daily in his hands-on approach to assisting patients in their healing processes. He utilizes conventional therapies when appropriate, but likes to work as naturally as possible with patients. |
